Harvey Mason / Funk In A Mason Jar

Harvey Mason, one of the most sought-after drummers, is well-known for his contribution to Herbie Hancock’s acclaimed 1973 album “Head Hunters” that featured the masterpiece electronic jazz funk tune “Chameleon”. In 1991, Mason formed the super contemporary jazz group “Fourplay” with Bob James, Lee Ritenour and Nathan East. Since 1975, Mason also releases his own leader albums constantly.
In 1977, Mason released his third leader album “Funk In A Mason Jar” for Arista, that reached the Top 40 on the USA R&B charts and the Top 10 on the Jazz charts. “Till You Take My Love” featuring Merry Clayton whoprovided the soulful vocals became a 1970’s R&B classic and Marvin Gaye's “What's Going On” with George Benson on vocals and guitar”
