The Bridge
The Bridge was "Multi-Culture Pop Fusion" project featuring Michael Sembello from USA, Daniel Jobim (the grandchild of the late Antonio Carlos Jobim) & Edu Falco from Brasil, Toshi Kubota from Japan.
The key word of this project was "One Planet One People"...
Naturally, the sound of this project was very unique, i.e. the mixed up of various kind music such as Brazilian contemporary, Japanese Pop, R&B, Jazz, and AOR / Westcoast, but well-organised into one. The final result was said to be awesome sophisticated. The project was one of the showcase how the music should be in 21th century.
Besides a bonus track was added to Japanese edition, there would still be a difference that USA edition track 12. “One Planet, One People” was 7 seconds shorter than Japanese edition. Speaking of the album artwork, it was funny that US edition (see the second photo) shown Japanese Character “Ai no Kakehashi (愛のかけ橋)” meaning “The bridge of Love” but Japanese edition didn’t.
