ロッド・スチュワートのアメリカン・スタンダード・シリーズの第2弾となる、21枚目のアルバム。リチャード・ペリー、フィル・ラモーン、クライヴ・デイヴィスのプロデュース。
今回は、“Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered”でシェール、“As Time Goes By”でクイーン・ラティファとデュエットを行っている。
個人的にはタイトル曲の“As Time Goes By”にグッときた。映画“カサブランカ”でドーリー・ウィルソンによって歌われていて、多くのカヴァーが存在している。ロッドとラティファ歌心が溢れている感じがする。
全米のアルバム・チャートで2位、全英で4位となった。このシリーズではカナダのチャートで初の1位を記録した。
聴いておきたいカヴァー・アルバムのひとつ。
