ザ・クラッシュの2ndアルバム。アメリカでは、このアルバムから発売された。サンディ・パールマンのプロデュース。
ザ・フーの“I Can't Explain”のメロディーを引用した“Guns on the Roof”はクラッシュで曲を書き、残りはジョー・ストラマーとミック・ジョーンズによって曲が書かれている。
“Stay Free”はミック・ジョーンズがヴォーカルを取り、あとはジョー・ストラマーのヴォーカルとなっている。
スピード感が抜群に良い曲が並んでいるが、シングルでリリースされた“Tommy Gun”は全英チャートで19位、アルバムは全英で2位、全米で126位となった。
聴いておきたいアルバムのひとつ。
