このアルバムを知ったのが10代終わり頃。30年経ってようやくモノラルのオリジナル盤プロモをついに手に入れました。感激。
「side 1 / side 2」表記で作曲者が「Reed」表記、DGなし、広告の印刷されたインナー・スリーヴ、などから東海岸盤ですね。

マトリクスは、めちゃくちゃ見づらく、写真を撮るのも難しかったです。
Side 1の最後は特に読みづらく「Rev」なのか自信ありませんが・・・・

★オリジナル盤の見分け方★

①表のバナナがシールになっていて剥がせる
　（バナナの上の端に"PEEL SLOWLY AND SEE"と印刷あり）。
②裏ジャケは、逆さまの人(Eric Emerson)が投影されている写真。
　コレをTORSO COVER（トルソー・カヴァー）と言い、1st coverの証です。
　なお、Eric Emersonのクレームにより黒いシールが貼られたものを2nd cover、
　Eric Emersonをぼかした写真に変更したモノを3rd coverとして区別します。
　ちなみに4th Coverからステレオのみとなり、バナナも剥がせないそうです。　
③ラベルの円周に「Metro-Goldwin-Mayer」表記あり
　（再発盤のレーベルではMGMの住所がHollywoodになっているそうです）。
④背表紙に "Produced By Andy Warhol"記載あり。

★東海岸/西海岸盤の見分け方★

どこのメーカーも輸送の問題があるためいくつかの拠点でレコードをプレスしており、Verveの場合は東海岸/西海岸の2カ所でレコードをプレスしていました。見分けるポイントはいくつかあり、わかりやすいのは「ラベルにdeep grooveがないのが東海岸プレス、あるのが西海岸プレス」ということです。ほか、インナー・スリーヴは、東海岸は「広告付きが多い」、西海岸盤は「プレーン無地」だとか。ということは、このレコはインナー・スリーヴだけ入れ替えたんでしょうか・・・？？

なお、本盤に関しては東海岸/西海岸で字体が異なります。ラベルのクレジット部分が東海岸盤は「Reed」などファミリー・ネームのみで、西海岸盤は「L.Reed」と書いているそうです。また東海岸盤は「side 1 / side 2」ですが、西海岸盤は「side A / side B」になっています。西海岸盤の方がレアらしいです。

★ほか★

①なお、ステレオが「V6-5008」でモノラルが「V-5008」です。モノラルの方が珍しくミックスも異なるため、ガツンと値が上がります。
②side 1のマトリクスに「REV」とあるのは、この作品にもともと"Sunday Morning"が入っておらず、1967年に入ってから追加したため・・・とされています。
