The BMW 320 Turbo was a Group 5 race car constructed and built by BMW Motorsport for touring car competition. The car was powered by a 2.0L M12/7 turbocharged inline-4 making around 600 horsepower, mated to a Getrag 5-speed manual. With drivers such as Derek Bell, Harald Grohs, Hans-Joachim Stuck, Ronnie Peterson, Marc Surer and Freddy Kottulinsky, the BMW 320 Turbo was a highly-successful racing car, winning numerous races; its greatest success was in the 1978 World Championship for Makes, where the car won all seven races in its division. 28 chassis were built for competition.
