A retool was issued in 2015 for easier assembly. The grille and fenders, until then molded with the body in zamac, became part of the plastic interior. The base was revised with an updated copyright year of 2015 as MB990.
It resumed production until 2017 when the license to Toyota fell through. It then returned for 2022 as the license for Toyota had been renewed.
The Moving Parts Series is a series of models which incorporate opening components such as doors, trunks, hoods, etc. In 2023 the series will include 54 models. Starting in 2023, all models are made with recycled zinc and made in Thailand.
