Makoto-Chan Doll Umezu Pro Ansony 1976
One of my rare finds is this doll of the mischievous Makoto-chan. Based on the character created by Kazuo Umezu in the 70's, this unique doll really captured the expressions of the kindergarten Makoto Sawada. Not really sure of his exact production date, but according to a blog this type of Makoto-chan doll was produced by Unsony at the year of 1976 (I'm open for correction). Complete set included a miniature poop, a green insect plush, and his red shoulder bag (mine is not complete). Actually, he's one of my unexpected and amusing purchase from a live selling shop. I've been seeing this doll in the background for days and it seems like no one wants to buy him. His school uniform was turning yellow, doesn't have shorts, and his face are not like any other dolls. I bought him in a cheap price and once he arrived, I gave a make-over he deserves. I made him shorts, washed his clothes, and made him an orange hat to protect his hair. He's one of a kind for me and I'm happy that I got the chance to buy him.
