Robbie Patton / Distant Shores

England born Robbie Patton started to co-write songs with Kerry Chater in Los Angeles around 1975 and got a position of the staff writer for Elton John’s Rocket Records/Publishing Company. It did not take long before Dolly Parton, Nona Hendryx and Leo Sayers recorded his songs. Dionne Warwick picked up and recorded his song "When The World Runs Out Of Love" co-written with Chris Christian on her 1980 album “No Night So Long”. Patton met and worked with Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac, then he was selected as the opening act for a Fleetwood Mac tour as an artist in 1979 when he released his first solo album “Do You Wanna Tonight” on Backstreet Records - MCA, supported by Jeff Porcaro, Steve Lukather, Mike Porcaro, Michael Landau, Steve George, Bob Welch and many others. Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac would go on to produce Patton's second solo album and played keyboards on them; Lindsey Buckingham also played guitar on Patton's US top 40 hit single, "Don't Give it Up” on Liberty Records, a division of Capitol Records in 1981. Patton returned the favor by co-writing the hit "Hold Me", which appeared on Fleetwood Mac's 1982 masterpiece album “Mirage”.
